This is it & I am done…..
I get to take my life and run
So many choices coming my way….
Soon I get to decide what to do with my day
I have waited so long for this day to come
Counting the days down one by one…
Graduation is almost here
Too bad I won’t be shedding a tear…
Memories which were as if they occurred yesterday,
turn to flashes of moments that seem to fade away.
People you once knew walk by without a clue
It’s time to move on & be an adult now
The things in High School that we all thought mattered
Like who your friends were & where you stood
Makes me glad these myths are shattered
Being myself is
what I will be…
Because I am enough without all to see
This is it and this is real…
I get to live the life I want & show how I feel
The things I have learned have helped me this far
And for me that means I may have to raise the bar
I will rise after every fall
I will rise and stand even more tall
Through it all I have love and support
With whichever path I take
Learning each day with mistakes that I make
If it is to be, its really up to me
My decisions determine my destiny
So for now lets be real,
This isn't anyone elses life but mine
This is my time to shine.
